The church of St Joseph
The church of San Giuseppe is located in the district Petrazzi and dates from the late nineteenth century. With a single nave, has a main entrance facing north, on Via Crispi F.sco, and a lateral one that opens on Chiesa Nuova Via Inside the church there are five altars: the main one dedicated to St. Joseph; on the right side, the first is dedicated to St. Nicholas is revered in the next while the Holy Heart of Jesus; on the left side, then, are the chapels of the Madonna of Sorrows and Our Lady of Fatima The frescoes that decorated the church have unfortunately been removed due to high humidity afflige the church, below which flows a spring of water. Nevertheless remain well-preserved columns with Corinthian capitals and plaster sculptures Of the three original pulpit remains only one, which shows the four Evangelists, each one with its own symbol: St. John with the Eagle; St. Matthew with the Angel; St. Mark with the Lion; St. Luke with the Bull.Back to monuments →
